Chicago Crystal Ball 2021 Ballroom Competition

June 10-13, 2021 My Dance Hub at Chicago Crystal Ball 2021

This past weekend we competed in a local ballroom competition, Chicago Crystal Ball 2021 . Hosted by the fabulous Toni Meredith and Debbie Avalos Kusumi. It took place at the sophisticated and luxurious Westin in Lombard Yorktown Center. The atmosphere in the ballroom was filled with lots of fun and of course spectacular dancing. My Dance Hub was ready ! Preparing for such an extraordinary event took lots of preparation. 32 of our talented students participated in the competition. They competed in both Pro-Am and amateur/amateur dancing. All representing My Dance Hub studio at their best performance.

The weekend started with Latin night. Students loaded up on salsa, hustle, merengue, West Coast swing, country two-step, samba, Argentine tango, and the most important part, a nacho bar and margaritas to top the night off.

Starting early Friday morning our American rhythm students dominated the floor and at the end of the day gracing us with their international ballroom technique. Some of our students took first place in their championships as well as Best of the Best. Friday night we all supported our very own My Dance Hub professionals, Vlad and Brianna. They took over the floor, placing first in Rising Star American smooth. We couldn’t be more proud for all their hard work and well deserved accomplishments.

The day began with American smooth and ended with International Latin. Our students again took first place and Best of the Best in their respective competitions. My Dance Hub’s energy was off the charts and definitely a force to be reckoned with. We took Top Studio, Top Teachers and Top Students awards, sweeping the floor with all our talent.

Dancing communicates ideas, thoughts and feelings through expressive movements. We couldn’t be more proud to say all of our students helped us to feel what it really means to dance. It was exactly the dose of medicine we needed after a year long pandemic.
